Organization Mission Statement: To assist senior citizens age 60 and over to recognize and deal with their needs and to provide a spectrum of services through a multi-function agency which will serve the recreational, intellectual, social, physical and mental needs of senior citizens and their caregivers regardless of race, creed or national origin.

Description of Services, Adults: On-site lunches and Meals on Wheels lunch deliveries on Mondays and Thursdays, exercise and educational classes (balance class and yoga), user group meetings (painters, knitters, quilters, garden club, mah jong, bridge), monthly Pancake Breakfast (1st Sunday of month), off-island trips, building facility rental to non-profit and private groups, special events and fundraisers throughout the year. Open M-F, 8 am – 4 pm. Weekday and weekend rentals available.

Volunteer Opportunities/Needs: We can always use volunteers to help with lunch prep and cleanup Mondays and Thursdays between 11 am – 2 pm, Meals on Wheels deliveries, drivers for off-island trips, office coverage, building and yard maintenance, and special event planning and help.

Orcas Community Resource Center

Organization Mission Statement:  To ensure all Orcas Islanders have access to services and support for their well-being.

Target Audience or Areas Served or Area of Operation: Through our partnerships with multiple organizations, we ensure islanders have access to mental and physical health services, the means with which to heat their homes, food for their families, assistance when faced with eviction, clothing, dental and vision care, and much more. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of Orcas Islanders. The Resource Center helped 819 individuals from 413 households access greater than 3,000 services in 2016 alone.

Description of Services- Families: The Orcas Community Resource Center’s goal is to improve the quality of life of Orcas Islanders in crisis.

Description of Services- Adults: OCRC offers a variety of services to assist individuals and families in the form of direct services or access to local, county, or state agency services.

Description of Services- Youth/Teen: OCRC partners with Island Market and Orcas Lions Club to provide Christmas gifts for island children through the Giving Tree, Sons of the American Legion to provide shoes for children, and ECEAP and a local donor to hold the annual Kindergarten Transition Bus Ride & School Tour and the Kindergarten Transition Banquet.

Organization Mission Statement: Our job at Senior Services of San Juan County is to assist seniors in remaining independent and in their own homes for as long as possible.

Community-based care is overwhelmingly preferred by consumers and caregivers of all ages.
