Organization Mission Statement: Our mission is to improve the quality of life of those with life-limiting illness by providing guidance and warm, loving, supportive help to a dying person and family, and to keep intact the dignity, integrity and personal choices of the individual.

Hospice of San Juan honors the end of life by offering support to people with life limiting conditions so that they may remain at home and live with comfort and dignity.

Registered Business structure/Charitable status: Hospice of San Juan is an independent, non-sectarian, non-profit organization. We received non-profit status in 1985 and Federal 501(c)3 status in 1993

Target Audience or Areas Served or Area of Operation: San Juan Island, Brown Island, Henry Island, Waldron Island,

Services: Hospice philosophy allows people to make personal choices about their care and empowers people to have as much control as possible over those choices. Our volunteers provide planned respite for family caregivers and help them cope with inevitable change. We honor confidentiality in all of our services. In addition to caregiver respite for our patients, we lend medical equipment (wheelchairs etc…) and offer grief support sessions.

Volunteer Opportunities: We welcome volunteers at all levels of services, including general organizational support (photography, tech services, writing/editing). All volunteers receive training in their chosen area, and are expected to comply with our confidentiality pledge.

Charitable donations accepted?  Yes. Hospice of San Juan is an independent, non-sectarian, non-profit organization. Our funding comes from individual donations and locally awarded grants. All services are free of charge.

Organization Mission Statement: Our job at Senior Services of San Juan County is to assist seniors in remaining independent and in their own homes for as long as possible.

Community-based care is overwhelmingly preferred by consumers and caregivers of all ages.

Target Audience or Areas Served or Area of Operation: Aged 60 or over. Disabled.

Services: Senior Services provides Information & Assistance, Family Caregiver Support, Nutrition-Congregate and Home Delivered Meals on Wheels, Transportation, Educational Workshops, Support Groups, classes.

Volunteer Opportunities/Needs: Volunteers are needed to help with many senior services programs and with fundraising projects.Volunteers needed in all aspects of Senior Services. Volunteers needed at all three Senior Centers. Volunteer Drivers needed
